What is CSRD?

CSRD stands for Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.

CSRD was adapted by the EU in 2023 and member states have until 2024 to implement it as law.

It will require companies to provide transparent reporting of their sustainability performance across their business. A companies Supply chain will form part of this reporting.

Initially, CSRD will be targeting larger enterprises that would have at least two of the following three attributes:

• More than 500 Employees
• More than €40m in turnover
• More than €20m in total assets.

There will be a trickle down effect, and within 3 years it will cover all businesses with two of three of the following:

• More than 10 Employees
• More than €700k in turnover
• More than €350k in total assets
